The rubber tire type container gantry crane (RTG, also known as yard/field bridge) is a specialized machinery used in large specialized container yards to load and unload standard containers. It is not only applicable to container terminal yards, but also to container dedicated yards.

Equipped with diesel AC generator set for power supply and digital variable frequency speed regulation, it can move in two directions within the container yard. Equipped with telescopic slings capable of lifting 20 foot and 40 foot containers. In general, the span of the field bridge has been standardized to 23.47 meters (six lanes plus walkways), and non-standard span field bridges can also be supplied. The lifting height can ensure the lifting of a 40 foot high 9'6" container, crossing four layers (or five to six layers) of the container stack.

The traveling mechanism of the crane can be four-wheel or two wheel drive. To prevent collisions between yard bridges and between yard bridges and containers, a manual deviation correction system and anti collision devices at the four corners of the crane are installed.

The mechanical operation of the small car can adopt rack and pinion type or dual axis or single axis drive, ensuring smooth operation. There is a cab under the small frame, where the driver operates the entire crane.
