What is a Shackle?
A shackle is a connector with a specific shape. All shackles have four definitive parts: The bow (curved part), the ears (supporting the pin), the pin (steel bolt), and the shoulder. Anchor and bow shackles feature an "O" shape for multi-directional connections, while "D" shackles are narrower and should not be side-loaded.
Material & Pin Types
Shackle uses are determined by the metal type and manufacturing process. Carbon or alloy steel shackles withstand overhead lifts and heavy workloads. Galvanized coatings provide zinc oxide protection against corrosion. Stainless steel (Type 304 and 316) offers superior chemical and salt water resistance.
🔩
Shackle Pin Varieties:
1. Screw Pin: Convenient for quick connection/disconnection.
2. Round Pin: Secured by a cotter pin, ideal for tie-down applications.
3. Bolt Type: Most secure with a bolt, nut, and cotter pin for permanent installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
🔵 What types of shackles do you offer?
We offer a wide range of shackles including anchor and bow shackles, chain and "D" shackles, wide body, subsea, and web sling shackles in various standards.
🔵 Which material is best for marine environments?
Type 316 stainless steel is the superior choice for saltwater and chemical resistance. Galvanized shackles are also effective for general outdoor corrosion resistance.
🔵 Can I order a sample before placing a bulk order?
Yes, sample orders are acceptable for quality inspection. We encourage testing to ensure the product meets your specific requirements.
🔵 What is the difference between a screw pin and a bolt type shackle?
Screw pins are designed for quick attachment and removal, while bolt-type shackles use a nut and cotter pin for a more permanent and secure installation.
🔵 Do you provide OEM services for custom specifications?
Yes, OEM services are available. We can source or manufacture products according to your specific job requirements or application needs.
🔵 What are the available delivery methods?
We primarily ship by sea or air, depending on the urgency and volume of the order. Large orders are typically shipped via sea in wooden cases or on steel pallets.
